Love Planet Five is a special unit of girls made up from I’ve Sound, a Japanese techno, trance music production group. The five girls include KOTOKO, Shimamiya Eiko, Kawada Mami, MELL, and Utatsuki Kaori. This song is used as a theme to the hit anime, Shakugan no Shana’s movie.
I only know KOTOKO, who sang the themes for Onegai Teacher and Maria-sama ga Miteru OVA. Her songs are rather amazing and Tenjo wo Kakeru Monotachi is definitely a nice addition to her growing discography. The PV is nothing special and it kept on showing the dancers, whoever they are, instead of better shots of the singers themselves. The song – another trance/techno piece written by KOTOKO – is a little generic of her works though, but for anime i guess these kinda songs suit better eh? BTW if you still don’t know, KOTOKO is the one with her hair tied up, and always standing in the middle. She’s also the prettiest/youngest of them i guess.
I love this song, but no one has the lyrics posted online. Anyone who could help with that?
Well, it’s on wikipedia, but it’s all in japanese, I haven’t seen a translated one yet.
Actuslly, all five of them are qiute famous. Well, of course KOTOKO is the most famous (i love her songs too ^.^)
KOTOKO sang for:
Kannazuki no Miko
Onegai Twins
Onegai Teacher
Maria sama ga Miteru
Hayate no Gotoku
Shana
Baldr force EXE Resolution
…and many japanese games.
Shimamiya Eiko is also good. She sang for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Her songs are umm.. quite unusual.
In case of Higurashi, to match the anime, the song is quite eerie…
Kawada Mami is also quite famous, you could say whenever there’s KOTOKO, there’s Kawada Mami. For example, KOTOKO sang the OP for Onegai Twins and Kawada sang for the ED. KOTOKO sang for OP 2 Shana, and Kawada sang for OP 1 Shana..
Mell and Utatsuki Kaori are the least famous, if you ask me. I do know them, at least.
Mell sang for opening of Black Lagoon, and uhh..
Utatsuki Kaori..
I dunno, but she sang a song together with KOTOKO… It’s Seishun Rocket, i think..
Ahh Higurashi.. my pick of the horror genre (of course i don’t watch many of em anyway). Eiko is good. KOTOKO is like the queen of anime hits and techno/trance in Japan? lol.
Another little bit of info is that KOTOKO did both OP songs for Hayate no Gotoku while Mell did the first ED, Mami Kawada did the second ED, and Kaori Utatsuki did the third ED.
